A Luxury Cot That Converts to a Toddler Bed

Little Lou’s CRYSTALLINE Cot is another product made for baby and you! A contemporary look to an imperative nursery piece, this high-quality cot features stylish acrylic panels. The transparent panels provide an open and light environment for your baby whilst blending in with your home decor. The see-through panels give peace of mind, being able to see your baby’s exact position when checking on them, whether physically walking into the room or nursery or when using a baby monitor. We opted for a fixed-side design which is a much sturdier build and to ensure your little one is the safest they can possibly be. This cot has a two-level mattress base adjustment to suit your child’s age from newborn to toddler. This cot can simply convert to a toddler bed with the FREE included toddler bed conversion kit, allowing this cot to last many years. This cot can hold up to 90 kilograms.

The classic white finish is precisely made with ethically sourced timber, it has tongue-and-groove joinery for anatomical principle. The mattress platform is made of metal. All timber is dried in a kiln, meaning the cot will never crack, corrupt, or mold. The finish is a child-safe water-based paint. The Crystalline complies with the mandatory safety standard AS/NZS 2172:2003, is GREENGUARD Gold Certified, and made in a Fair Trade facility.

Our cot is made to suit a mattress with the following dimensions 70cm x 132cm. There is a huge selection of thicknesses and a choice of pocket sprung or foam. We feel this is a personal choice and something you may want to touch and feel before making your choice, this is the reason we do not provide mattresses. This size cot mattress is commonly found in IKEA stores, they offer an excellent variety.

There are many organizations that provide recommendations on how to sleep your baby safe from birth. Rednose guidelines are as follows –

    4. The wrap should be muslin or light cotton material
    5. The wrap should be firm but not tight
    6. The baby must not be overdressed under the wrap

    Cot to Bed

    1. Check your home for hazards before your child graduates from a cot
    2. Provide a safe place to sleep
    3. Bunk beds are not recommended for young children
    4. Bean bags, sofas, large cushions, and air mattresses are not safe places for young children to sleep

When a baby is first born his world changes forever, he/she was used to a warm, dark, and cozy environment. They are no longer physically connected with all their needs met instantly, they have a lot to learn – how to eat, how to sleep, etc. Have skin to skin contact when you can, this will help your baby bond, listening to your familiar heartbeat will comfort them. Feeding your baby on demand will also provide comfort. Before birth, your baby was snug inside your belly so trying to sleep them on their back in a cot can be scary for them. Learn how to safely swaddle to make them feel secure and carry them close in a carrier when you can. Understand your baby's cries so you can meet their needs easily.

To help with a good night’s sleep you may want to start a night-time routine. This could be having a warm bath, followed by a feed then a storybook. You may then place the baby in his/her cot wrapped with the sound of white noise or nature sounds. A red night light is also scientifically proven to promote restful sleep. Then there are some alternative options like the use of essential oils. All of these are simple suggestions to give ideas on how to help babies and parents get some quality sleep.
